Emerge's Pottery Studio

Emerge has a fully functional pottery studio including 10 pottery wheels, a kiln, and a glazing station. We host classes year-round and have options for potters of all ages and skill levels. 

Pottery Class Schedule

Standard pottery classes run for 6 weeks. Students have 3 weeks at the end of their class session to finish trimming and glazing their work. Open studio hours for students are Wednesdays and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm*.

Studio Memberships

Emerge offers monthly studio memberships on a limited basis for students who have taken more than 2 classes in our space. Please email programming@emergecda.com if you are interested in becoming a member. 

Kiln Rentals

Have pottery you'd like to fire? We can do it! 

We offer kiln rentals for anyone firing at Cone 04 bisque or Cone 6 glaze. If the clay you're firing is not purchased here you MUST get approval from a staff member or instructor prior to dropping off work to be fired. 

Pricing:

Shelf: $35

Whole kiln: $75

When renting a shelf we fire your work alongside student work. In order to avoid accidents greenware must be 100% dry prior to firing and glazed work must be cleaned according to our studio's policy. Glazed work cannot have any glaze on the underside of the piece and must be wiped 1/4 inch from the base. Please inform instructors or staff members of any glaze that may run during firing. 

 

Emerge's Darkroom

Emerge has a fully functional darkroom located in our studio and classroom space. Darkroom rentals will launch in June 2024. Please email programming@emergecda.com if you're interested in scheduling a rental. More details coming soon. 

Emerge's Classroom

In addition to our pottery classes, Emerge hosts a wide variety of other classes in our classroom space. We offer everything from basket weaving to traditional painting. If you have a unique talent you'd like to share with the community, please email programming@emergecda.com to set up your next workshop in our space.
